How does Parent Engagement look like at Soleil Academy?
At Soleil Academy, parent engagement means building an active partnership between families and educators to support every child’s learning, development, and overall success. We believe that when families and schools work together, our scholars thrive academically, socially, and emotionally!
We encourage all families to contribute 20 or more hours of participation each year. If you have more than one scholar, that’s 20 hours per scholar (for example, two scholars = 40 hours). Your time and involvement directly strengthen our school community and enrich the experience for all students.
There are endless opportunities to get involved! From volunteering in classrooms and chaperoning field trips to helping with school events, supporting fundraisers, and sharing your unique talents. No matter how you choose to participate, your engagement makes a lasting impact!

Volunteer opportunities and Requirements
Volunteer support is critical at Soleil Academy Charter as we seek to build strong school culture and community. Meaningful involvement by volunteers is a critical dimension of effective schooling and improves student achievement. Soleil Academy places a strong emphasis on fostering collaboration between parents and guardians in their children's educational journey. The school views education as a collective endeavor, with active involvement from the school, students, and families working together to ensure success. In alignment with Soleil's mission, the school encourages families to commit to dedicating 20 participation hours each year.
Families at Soleil Academy can accumulate these participation hours through various channels, including attending school meetings and events such as Cafecitos and Parent Teacher Conferences, participating in family workshops, contributing to daily school tasks, assisting in student recruitment, and completing take-home projects, becoming a volunteer and chaperoning field trips, as well as visiting Museums, Libraries and Colleges, among other options. This diverse range of opportunities is designed to facilitate the achievement of the 20-hour target for each family.
Soleil Academy acknowledges the importance of maintaining a balance between active family involvement and creating a secure and uninterrupted learning environment for their students. Therefore, the Soleil Academy upholds strict guidelines and procedures across all aspects of their participation opportunities. This ensures that both the educational mission and the well-being of the students remain at the forefront of their efforts.
